Pulse Night Club Commemoration and Latino Night
June 12 @ 10:00 pm
On June 12, 2016, 49 people were murdered in a mass shooting on Latino Night in Orlando, Florida’s Pulse Nightclub. Our country rapidly responded rapidly with a number of vigils and services nationwide in support of the victims and with a demand to enact gun control legislation. One such vigil took place in Takoma Park, Maryland where community members took turns reading the names of the 49 victims in Orlando. Please join George, supporters of gun reform, and local organizations, as we remember the lives lost on that tragic night. We will hear from local leaders and conclude with a celebration of our community, just days after Capital Pride. Following the commemoration, we will celebrate our own Latino Night. The image below is the list of names George read at the Takoma Park vigil back in 2016. Let’s stand together against gun violence.
